This 18-inch hand forged Damascus Bowie knife is made for people who want a big fixed blade with real presence. The 12-inch twist-pattern Damascus steel blade gives you serious reach and cutting power. The handle pairs natural antler stag horn with rosewood and finishes in a Damascus steel guard. A leather sheath comes with it, so the knife is ready to carry, store, or display the day it arrives.
Hunters, campers, ranchers, and collectors all end up looking at the same thing: a Bowie that feels solid in the hand and looks like it was made by someone who cared. That is what this knife is.

Why Choose This Damascus Bowie Knife
1. Genuinely forged, genuinely patterned. The twist pattern is part of how the steel is built, not a stamp or a coating. Each blade shows its own swirl of light and dark lines, so yours will not look exactly like anyone else's.
2. A 12-inch blade that does real work. Long blades give you leverage and clean, committed cuts. For large cutting tasks around camp, that length is the point of a Bowie.
3. A handle made from natural materials. Stag horn and rosewood give a textured, non-slip grip and a look that synthetic handles cannot copy. Because the antler is natural, color and texture vary slightly from knife to knife.
4. The sheath is included. You do not have to shop for one separately. The leather sheath protects the edge and the knife is ready to carry or display.
5. Custom orders are welcome. We can engrave a name or logo, which makes this a strong gift knife for a hunter, a groomsman, or a collector.
6. You can talk to a person. Reach us directly by WhatsApp or email before you buy. If you want to know about the tang, the weight, or a custom handle, just ask.
Key Features and What They Mean for You
-
12" Damascus steel blade. More reach and cutting power than a standard 6–9" hunting knife. Best suited to big, heavy-duty cutting work.
-
Twist pattern. The spiraling lines run along the blade and are visible from across the room, which makes the knife as good for display as for the field.
-
Bowie profile. The classic American Bowie shape has been a field and camp knife for generations. It is recognizable and well proven.
-
6" handle. Enough length for a full, secure grip, including for larger hands or with gloves on.
-
Stag horn and rosewood handle. A natural, textured surface that stays grippy and feels warm in the hand.
-
Damascus steel guard. Matches the blade and adds hand protection between the grip and the edge.
-
Leather sheath. Included for protected storage and carry.
-
Engraving available. Add a name or logo for a personal or branded piece.
Material and Craftsmanship
What "Damascus steel" means here
Modern Damascus steel, also called pattern-welded steel, is made by forge-welding layers of different steels into one billet. The smith then twists, folds, or cuts the billet to create a pattern. After the blade is ground to shape, an acid etch reveals the pattern. The softer, more reactive layers etch darker and the nickel-bearing layers stay bright, so the lines stand out.
Many hand forged Damascus knives are made from a high-carbon steel such as 1095 combined with nickel steel such as 15N20.
The twist pattern
In a twist pattern, the billet is heated and twisted so the layers spiral along the length of the blade. Twisting tightens the layers, which is why a twist pattern does not need as many layers as some other designs to look sharp and defined. It is one of the most recognizable looks in Damascus knives.
Handle and guard
The handle combines antler stag horn with rosewood. Stag horn is hard, textured, and grips well even when wet. Rosewood adds warmth and a smooth contrast. A Damascus steel guard completes the knife and visually ties the handle to the blade.
How to Use a Bowie Knife This Size
Camp and field work. Bowies have long been used by hunters for butchering, skinning, and cleanup, plus general camp tasks such as cutting rope, brush, and kindling.
Large game processing. A 12" blade handles big cuts and quartering comfortably. For delicate skinning, fine caping, or small game, most hunters prefer a smaller skinning knife and use a large Bowie as the heavy-duty partner. If you want both, see you.
Ranch and homestead. Cutting feed bags, twine, and rough materials is easy work for a long fixed blade.
Collecting and displaying. The twist pattern, the natural handle, and the 18" size make this a standout piece on a wall or in a display case.
Gifting. With a sheath included and engraving available, it is ready to give as a gift.

The honest trade-off: Damascus blades with high-carbon layers are more prone to rust than stainless steel, so they need a little regular care. In return you get a pattern that no mass-produced stainless blade can match, and a blade that holds a keen edge. If you want zero maintenance, stainless is the easier choice. If you want a knife that looks and feels like a craft object, this is it.
Care and Maintenance
Handle this knife the way you would a carbon steel skillet: a little attention keeps it looking and working its best.
-
Wash only when needed. Use warm water and mild soap on a soft cloth. No dishwasher, no steel wool, no harsh scrubbers.
-
Dry it right away. Moisture and the acids from food or skin are the main causes of rust and spotting.
-
Oil the blade. Wipe on a thin coat of mineral oil, camellia oil, or a wax made for knives, then wipe off the excess. If the knife is mainly a display piece, oiling roughly once a month is a good habit.
-
Store it dry. Keep it somewhere dry, away from humidity and big temperature swings. Leather holds moisture, so for long-term storage take the knife out of the sheath and keep it lightly oiled.
-
Spot-treat rust early. If a small spot appears, clean it off gently and re-oil it before it spreads.
-
Sharpen gently. A fine stone or strop works well. Avoid aggressive grinding that could wear down the pattern.
FAQs
How long is this Damascus Bowie knife?
It is 18 inches overall, with a 12-inch blade and a 6-inch handle.
What is the handle made of?
The handle is made from antler stag horn and rosewood, with a Damascus steel guard. Because the antler is a natural material, color and texture vary slightly from knife to knife.
What does "twist pattern" mean?
The layered steel is heated and twisted during forging so the layers spiral along the blade. After etching, the lines show as a swirling pattern along the length of the steel.
Does it come with a sheath?
Yes. A leather sheath is included.
Is this a good hunting knife?
It is a strong choice for big cutting jobs in camp and for processing large game. For fine skinning or small game, many hunters like to carry a smaller skinning knife as well. We have those in our Hunting Knives collection.
Will Damascus steel rust?
Damascus blades with high-carbon layers can rust if they are left wet or neglected. Dry the blade after use and keep a thin coat of oil on it, and it will stay in great shape. See the care section above.
Can I get my name or logo engraved on it?
Yes. We offer custom orders and engraving. Contact us at ZBKnives786@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +1 (279) 444 2992 to arrange it.
Is the pattern the same on every knife?
No. The blade is hand forged and the handle is a natural stag horn, so each knife has its own look.
Can I buy this if I am under 18?
No. Customers must be 18 years or older to purchase knives.
Is it legal to carry a Bowie knife?
Knife laws vary by state, country, and even city, especially for blades of this length. Check your local rules before you buy or carry.
What are your shipping and return terms?
[CONFIRM-6 and CONFIRM-7: state shipping destinations, delivery time, return window, and any warranty in one or two plain sentences.]
